Mr. Zacharjasz specializes in corporate finance matters involving sophisticated valuation models and risk analysis.

He has worked on damages and valuation assessments in arbitration and litigation proceedings involving energy, infrastructure, retail, and mining assets across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa. Mr. Zacharjasz’s engagements have spanned commercial disputes involving the termination of long-term contracts, restructuring transactions involving distressed assets, and investor-state disputes involving alleged expropriations and changes in regulatory or policy frameworks.

In addition, Mr. Zacharjasz has extensive experience advising investors outside of litigation proceedings. He has advised investors and a European state on the design and assessment of state aid measures under EU state aid rules. His work has included implementing the market economy operator (MEO) test and advising on the design of Contracts for Difference (CfD) and other support mechanisms, with a particular focus on aligning incentives and encouraging efficient investment and operational behaviour. Mr. Zacharjasz has also provided regulatory and financial advice on merger and acquisition-related matters, as well as the financing of infrastructure assets in Europe.
