Angela Golemac

Dr. Golemac is an economist specializing in applied microeconomics, financial markets, and econometric analysis. She consults on complex litigation and regulatory matters involving securities, derivatives, commodities, cryptocurrency and digital assets, and structured financial products.

Her work in financial markets includes investigations, enforcement matters, and disputes involving industry customs and practices. She has supported expert work in matters involving the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and other government and regulatory bodies. Dr. Golemac’s experience includes analyses of trading behavior, market structure, cryptocurrency exchanges and digital assets, commodities transactions, financial derivatives, and structured finance products, including commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities, collateralized debt obligations (CDOs), and collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). She has also worked on matters involving distressed assets, transaction tracing, and economic damages.

Dr. Golemac applies microeconometric methods to labor and employment matters, economic damages, and policy evaluation. She has evaluated the effects of labor-market policies and reforms on employment, wages, labor-force participation, and economic output, and has analyzed workforce demographics and hiring practices using employment, population, and other administrative data. Her work has also included constructing actual and counterfactual economic scenarios and applying demographic and present-value methods to quantify economic differences between alternative outcomes.

Prior to joining Brattle, she conducted academic research on financial-crime regulation and anti-money-laundering policies. Dr. Golemac taught undergraduate and graduate economics courses at the University of Delaware and Hood College.
