Senior Consultant Andrew Levitt Assesses Recent FERC Orders on Co-Located and Electrically Proximate Generation and Load Pairings
Senior Consultant Andrew Levitt recently submitted an affidavit on behalf of Eolian, L.P. to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) addressing its June 2026 orders on co-located and electrically proximate generation and large loads.
He explains how Load-Limited Generator Interconnection Service (LLGIS) can accelerate new generation and load interconnections while avoiding unnecessary network upgrades, and recommends that FERC require a permanent LLGIS option, including for generation and load at electrically equivalent locations. He also recommends that LLGIS remain resource-neutral by including appropriate charging studies for storage resources.
