Dr. Nusbaum’s work in economics relies extensively on both computational and applied econometric methods.
With experience studying the impact of aging populations on aggregate growth and how the rise of female labor force attachment affected household migration choices, Dr. Nusbaum has also investigated econometric methods for estimating the labor market effects of business cycle shocks. Dr. Nusbaum’s work has been published in the Review of Economic Dynamics, National Bureau of Economic Research working paper series, and, while studying physics as an undergraduate, the Journal of Nanotechnology in Engineering and Medicine.
While working on his PhD in Economics at UC Santa Barbara (UCSB), Dr. Nusbaum served as a Senior Research Analyst at the UCSB Economic Forecast Project. There, he managed a team of undergraduates to collect and synthesize Santa Barbara County demographic, environmental, and other local industry data for distribution to the broader community.
