Brattle Experts Discuss How Topology Optimization Improves the Grid on the Alternative Power Plays Podcast

Principal Dr. Metin Celebi and Senior Consultant Dr. Pablo Ruiz were featured on an episode of Alternative Power Plays, “How Topology Optimization Improves the Grid.”

Dr. Ruiz is also the co-founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Technology Officer at NewGrid, Inc. He joined Dr. Celebi and Buchanan’s John Povilaitis to discuss how topology optimization leverages the redundancy in grid networks to relieve transmission congestion bottlenecks and maintain reliability during emergency conditions. Dr. Ruiz also shared insights on NewGrid and Brattle’s work with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), Midcontinent ISO (MISO), and Southwest Power Pool (SPP) members, and how it’s led to both congestion reductions and cost savings.
