Reviewed load forecasting models for electric utility

For an electric utility in the Southeast, reviewed load forecasting models for residential and commercial customer classes. Assessed the accuracy and validity of the models by reviewing the historic and forecast period inputs to the model; model specification; in-sample and out-of-sample accuracy statistics; and incorporation of DSM impacts to the model, among many others. Also conducted an analysis using the US Energy Information Administration’s Annual Energy Outlook (AEO) data to determine the forecast errors during pre and post-recession periods.
