On behalf of the US Department of Justice (DOS), Brattle provided economic analyses in a landmark antitrust matter concerning Google’s control over digital advertising technology (ad tech). The case centered on allegations from the DOJ and a group of eight states that Google used its control over various segments of the ad tech ecosystem – which pairs publishers with advertisers to place ads on sites around the internet – to suppress competition and maintain monopoly power. The Brattle team supported six experts in preparing their expert reports, three of whom testified during the three-week trial.
